Clear the area where the matting is to be installed – Sweep up any dirt or dust and move any large portable items out of the way – e.g. portable heaters, bins, etc…

Starting at where you are wanting the matting to end, lay down one Work Deck tile down, with the connecting edge (one with the “Teeth” visible) facing the direction that the rest of the matting is to be fitted.

If there is to be a bevel edge along the edge where you have placed your first tile, move the tile in the width of the bevel edge, allowing space for this to be added afterwards.

Lay the Work Deck mats into position, first laying one mat width along the length of the area.

If the mat width is more than one tile wide, connectors will need to be used to connect a width of Work Deck to clip into the side of the first length.

If the matting needs to be cut down, use a metal straight edge and safety knife and carefully cut down to size, once careful measurements have been taken.

We strongly advise that Ethyl Cyanoacrylate adhesive is used to permanently join all sections of Work Deck matting, and edgings together. Although you don`t need to do this, if the matting is to be moved around regularly.

Once all the matting has been installed, with connectors to all internal mat edges, lay down a strip of double sided tape on the floor surface around the matting area, where the bevel edges are to be. This prevents the matting from moving on the floor, but is not necessary if the matting is not to be kept in one place permanently.

Double sided tape and Ethyl Cyanoacrylate adhesive are both available from Strata.

Peel back the liner on the double sided tape.

Clip the bevel edges into the matting tiles and place the bottom of the bevel edge onto the double sided tape. As above, we do recommend Ethyl Cyanoacrylate is used to attach the bevel edge to the mat, to join the sections permanently.

Carry out the above stage for all edges, apart from at the corners. On each external corner, the bevel edges will need to be cut down slightly in length to make the Work Deck corners fit in. Once the bevel edges have been cut down to size, these can be clipped into the Work Deck matting and placed onto the double sided tape.

Start enjoying your new Work Deck!

Make sure the area you wish to install the Tough Route onto is clean and dry. Ensure there are no paint flakes or other loose materials on the floor. Do not use methylated spirits, petrol, lighter fluid, or similar to clean the surface, as these leave behind a residue, which may prevent the markings sticking to the floor.

The floor surface temperature should be above 10°C before you start fitting.

Strata advises that primer is used with all Tough Route products. Tough Route products can be used without applying primer, but it seals the floor, and helps with the adhesion of the product to the floor, which increases the life time.

Mark out the area where the floor signage or makings are going to go.

Within the marking lines, paint a thin layer of primer to the surface of the floor.

Leave the primer to dry for approximately 1 hour.

Peel back a small section of the release liner, then press the self-adhesive Tough Route item onto the prepared surface. Slowly peel back the liner and apply to the floor, whilst applying the tape or other Tough Route floor marking product. Make sure the tape is applied flat – the tape shouldn’t be taut or too slack.

Once applied, press down the tape using even pressure, to remove any bubbles, and make sure the Tough Route is applied firmly to the floor. The “Pressure application roller” from the Tough Route range is specially designed for this task.

To extend the life of the product, a thin bead of “Tough Route edge fix” can be applied to the edges, to prevent the edges being caught and pulled up.

Once installed, Tough Route can be walked on immediately, but maximum benefits will be achieved after left to dry for 48 hours, then start enjoying your new Tough Route markings!

Clear the area, where the matting is to be fitted – Sweep up any dirt or dust and move any large portable items out of the way.

Clean any grease or fluids from the floor ensuring it is dry before commencing installation

Place the Clean-Start Forklift Mat face down with the rubber backing side up.

Tape along all 4 sides of the tiles as close to the edge as possible.

Inside the rectangle, create an X by placing tape, sticky side down from one corner diagonally to the opposite
ner.

Place mat in position, carefully fold one half of the mat back, exposing the tape.

Remove the backing tape and trim back to the folded area. Fold that half back into place and repeat on the other side.

To secure bond between tape and tile, apply pressure by walking around each side of the tile. At this time, installation of the tile is complete. Subsequent tiles may be placed immediately after the installed tile with the edges touching or a small gap left.
